What can you see in Isla Mujeres – restaurants tips

Isla Mujeres, Mexico is a small, incredible, quiet tiny island placed off the coast of Cancun. Its clear blue water, spectacular coral reefs, sugar sand beaches, gently waving palm trees, migrating whale sharks, Mayan ruins, and giant iguanas that move over your view sometimes when you’re not looking make it one of the best travel locations in the Riviera Maya.

Love sea turtles? So do we, and that’s why we always stop by the Turtle Farm in Isla Mujeres. Since large sea turtles have made Isla Mujeres their breeding ground for generations, the Turtle Farm gathers up the eggs it finds along the beaches and incubates them at the Turtle Farm thereby greatly increasing their chances of survival. Depending on the time of year you’re there, you can see hundreds of turtles in the tanks growing up in the large tanks around the property. There is a great celebration the day they’re released back into the wild.

Isla Mujeres has tons of little shops and stalls to explore, during your stay on the island. From local art to cold drinks, to traditional clothing, there is something for everyone. While you can definitely find something worthy of bringing back to your friends and family, beware of inflated prices, presented to foreigners. Pushy vendors can sometimes charge more than triple the price of souvenirs to tourists, however, you can usually bargain for a better deal. If you have never bargained before, give it a try! You never know what kind of treasures you might leave with. Garaffon Park is a great place to visit if you are traveling with children. This adventure park offers a variety of activities for you and your family to enjoy, all day long, such as zip lining, kayaking, swimming with dolphins, and bike riding.
