Myomas or Fibroids are tumors that develop within the uterus of a woman. Often, fibroids are not life-threatening or dangerous, neither are they cancerous, however, they can cause issues such as discomfort, anemia, blood loss and fatigue. These are benign tumors but are capable of growing to very large sizes. They can cause bleeding, interfere with pregnancy and can also cause intense pain. Surprisingly, the exact cause of fibroids is still unknown. See extra details at Fibroids treatment in Chennai.
Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators: Also called SERMs. Not much research is available on this therapy but the medicines administered works by lowering the estrogen levels but not cause the symptoms of menopause. This ‘selectively’ works on shrinking the fibroids. These are similar to birth controlling IUDs (like copper T) that are placed inside the body. But, these devices release hormone progestin which helps in controlling bleeding and cramps. They don’t actually shrink the fibroids.
