What are esports? Esports (or electronic sports) are professional, organized video games competitions. In other words, professional gamers play videogames against one another competitively, often for large sums of money and prestige. These tournaments can range from small local matches to filling out stadiums of thousands. According to Newszoo’s 2018 Global Esports Market Report, the esports industry is estimated to be worth nearly one billion dollars within the next year – that’s a year-on-year increase of a whopping 38%. In addition, Newszoo estimates that by 2019, 427 million people worldwide will be watching esports (via ESPN).

Gambit Esports won the $400,000 grand prize today at IEM Katowice by defeating Virtus.Pro (VP). This is the biggest win for the organization since their incredible victory over Immortals at PGL Krakow back in 2017. Gambit played four rounds in total at the best-of-five grand finals against VP and won with three consecutive map wins. Sh1ro was outstanding throughout the tournament, his performance against Na’vi being the most notable one. Earning a rating of 1.27, he had an above average rating in 15 of the 17 maps played. Some important statistics defining his brilliance in the tournament include KAST: 77.8%, Impact: 1.16, K/D Ratio: 1.52 and Deaths / round: 0.48. The best online games come with a few benefits over their offline brothers. Namely, in contrast to the best PC games, online games require less investment, not only in money since they’re cheaper, but in the amount of time needed to enjoy them and finish them. Basically, you can have a good time playing these games without dropping a huge chunk of change, which is probably why they have such a large following. While they may not have the same emotional pull of something like Red Dead Redemption 2, the best online games are perfect for a quick virtual vacation during a school or work break. They’re ideal, in fact, for a little distraction. And, no matter what your taste in games are, there’s something for you, whether you like puzzle-based games like Samorost, something ridiculous like Robot Unicorn Attack, or a sprawling MMO like Runescape.

Another highly-rated cooking title is Diner DASH Adventures, where you have to fix up a derelict diner and turn it into a thriving business. Diner DASH is focused on time-based quests and learning how to properly manage your finances so you can upgrade your company. For a cooking game, Diner DASH is quite story-driven. The game also has microtransactions and ads, but overall they are on the low end and not intrusive. Cooking City is a fun cooking game with a brightly colored interface that makes it easy to play. Instead of running a restaurant like you do in Good Pizza, Great Pizza, Cooking City focuses on completing timed “food combos.” How quickly you can fill out these combos for your customers—and how happy you can keep them through these orders—will determine your overall profits.

The third installment of the popular cooking game series is finally out in Steam Early Access. This time you’ll be travelling in your food truck to participate in the National Foodtruck Championships, which means a greater focus on street foods like ramen, Cuban sandwiches, and poutine – bless you, Québécois cuisine. We particularly love the new chill mode, which makes this one of the most relaxing games around by removing any time limits and just letting you cook at your own pace.

This game breaks down the art of pancake making into a step-by-step process. All the pivotal ingredients are there: milk, butter, eggs, sugar, and generic pancake mix. When throwing all your elements into the mixing bowl, you have the option to tap or turn your phone to the side to pour, a gracious option to assure you look ridiculous in public. One big complaint: All the ingredients look the same when being poured, from sugar to milk to pancake mix, which is both unrealistic and strange. The majority of this game involves mundane tasks, like turning the mixer on or turning the stove on before cooking. Also, don’t forget to spray your pan before pouring the batter in, because nothing’s more disappointing than going to flip that flapjack only to realize it’s stuck to the pan and there’s nothing you can do to save yourself. Pancake Maker! is nothing more than an effortless game, making it both easy to enjoy and easy to forget. Download Pancake Maker! for free at the App Store.

Most of us know about the eccentric and easily irritable chef Gordon Ramsay thanks to a series of TV reality shows that have aired over the years. What if he had his own game, wouldn’t that be better? Well he does, and it’s made by Glu, a developer popular in the mobile gaming segment. Known as Restaurant Dash, the gameplay revolves around a busy restaurant, and of course, Gordon Ramsay. The concept of this game is somewhat similar to Diner Dash (which is also created by Glu Mobile). You have time based events, so you’re required to be quick. You will build restaurants, and eventually expand your empire all over the world. The more restaurants you have, the better you’ve done in the game. This is indeed a fun cooking and food game. There are dedicated boss battles within the game featuring Gordon Ramsay, which is a fun way to test your in-game skill. Customization of the character is another major factor here, as the game allows you to create and design your avatar the way you want. There have been several “Dash” based games, but this personalized avatar is a first for this particular game by the developers. Expectedly, the app is free to download from Google Play App Store, but contains ads and in-app purchases. As with the game above, this one too will work on any device (including tablets) running Android 4.0.3 or above. Find additional information at https://mytrendingstories.com/.
